The Impact you will have in this role:

The Enterprise Scheduling Engineering organization is responsible for the end-to-end management of the Batch Scheduling environment. Our primary objective is to deliver flexible, scalable scheduling capabilities through self-service and automation, while consistently enforcing established best practices to reduce risk and accelerate enterprise-wide automation.

The Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for the administration and operational support of Distributed Scheduling across Linux and cloud-based platforms. This role partners closely with infrastructure-as-code–driven automation initiatives to design, develop, and deliver new automation capabilities, as well as to enhance and evolve existing solutions.
 

Your Primary Responsibilities:
 

  • Work with project managers for meeting all deadlines outlined within the project plan 
  • Coordinate and support Automation deployments
  • Support the management of risks, issues, and dependencies across scheduling environments
  • Follow all change management procedures
  • Install, Upgrade or Patch Scheduling Products
  • Collaborate with operations team on newly developed automation
  • Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability
  • Create and publish system documentation for enabling IT to use automated scheduling solutions
  • Conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing (IDE Tools: AWS Q)
  • Partner with experienced team members to develop new automation
  • Support outages in the scheduling space
  • Work with vendor for health check ups, cases, solutions, etc.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

 

Talents Needed for Success:

  • Strong Linux Administration (Minimum 4 years’ experience)
  • Proficient Automation Skills (Minimum 4 years’ experience)
    • Shell scripting
    • Python scripting
  • Independently install, upgrade, customize and integrate all components of Autosys
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Distributed Scheduling (Autosys and Airflow)
  • Containerized Platform Knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Software Configuration Management
  • Version Control Knowledge (Bitbucket)
  • Cloud Knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP, IAM, Ingress/Egress Policies)
  • Automation Tool Knowledge (CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, Chef)

 

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
