Birch Agency is seeking a LDTC Teacher to join our team

We are currently hiring for the position of Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) in the Livingston, NJ area. As an LDTC, you will play a crucial role in our student support team by providing assistance and accommodations to students with learning disabilities so that they can thrive both academically and socially. Your responsibilities will include assessing students, developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with teachers and parents, and delivering specialized instruction and intervention. By using evidence-based strategies and your in-depth knowledge of learning disabilities, you will help our students overcome challenges and reach their full potential..

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify and evaluate students with learning disabilities.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet students' unique needs.

  • Provide direct instruction and intervention to students with learning disabilities in both individual and small group settings.

  • Design and implement research-based strategies and accommodations to support students' academic progress and social-emotional development.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure the successful implementation of IEPs and accommodations in the general education setting.

  • Monitor students' progress regularly, collect data, and make data-driven instructional decisions to guide interventions and modifications.

  • Provide professional development and support to teachers in implementing effective strategies for students with learning disabilities.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, services provided, and communication with parents and stakeholders.

  • Stay informed about current research and best practices in the field of learning disabilities and special education.

  • Advocate for students with learning disabilities, ensuring their needs are understood.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field with LDTC certification preferred.

  • New Jersey Department of Education certification as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC).
