Key Responsibilities:Â
Preconstruction Team OperationsÂ
- Manage and mentor the preconstruction team, including estimators, coordinators, and support staff, to ensure high performance and professional development.Â
- Establish and maintain preconstruction processes, tools, and standards to drive consistency and accuracy across all projects.Â
- Facilitate internal collaboration between estimating, scheduling, and design review functions to ensure cohesive project planning.Â
Coordination with Business DevelopmentÂ
- Partner with business development and executive leadership to evaluate new project opportunities and support proposal development.Â
- Participate in client presentations, interviews, and strategy sessions to communicate preconstruction capabilities and value.Â
- Provide early-stage feasibility analysis, budgeting, and scheduling input for pursuits and negotiated work.Â
Stakeholder LiaisonÂ
- Serve as the primary preconstruction contact and issue escalation point for clients, providing clear communication and guidance throughout the planning process.Â
- Build trust and long-term relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners through transparency and responsiveness.Â
Subcontractor and Trade Partner Relations Â
- Cultivate and maintain strong subcontractor relationships for both pricing and work execution.Â
- Maintain accurate pricing information, stay informed on code changes, and embrace new technologies for company and individual growth.Â
Project Ownership and ManagementÂ
- Assume responsibility for all projects entering preconstruction, overseeing the quality, accuracy, and completeness of work across all trades.Â
- Ensure estimates are reliable and accurate to secure work and project viability for stakeholders.Â
Risk Management and Strategic PlanningÂ
- Identify and assess project risks during preconstruction and develop mitigation strategies.Â
- Support the development of project execution plans, logistics strategies, and procurement schedules.Â
- Ensure all preconstruction deliverables meet internal quality standards and client expectations.Â
Â
Ideal Candidate ProfileÂ
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in commercial general construction estimating working with preconstruction teams.Â
- Senior estimating experience may be considered if aligned with project and contractor type.Â
- Strong knowledge of preconstruction processes, scope development, cost estimating, construction methods, materials, and regulations.Â
- Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam and Scheduling Software.Â
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Â
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Â
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesÂ
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously when necessary.Â
Preferred QualificationsÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.Â
- LEED, CPE, DBIAÂ or other relevant certifications are advantageous.Â
