Job Summary

The ETSU Department of Internal Medicine invites board-certified or board-eligible Internists to join our established inpatient hospitalist team. Whether your passion lies in teaching, clinical care, research, or leadership, your career will be supported and encouraged within our collaborative academic environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage hospitalized patients
  • Mentor and teach medical students and residents during inpatient rotations
  • Conduct lectures, lead case discussions, and provide hands-on clinical training
  • Contribute to the advancement of internal medicine through education, quality improvement, and scholarly activity

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of inpatient internal medicine and evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Skilled in teaching, mentoring, and evaluating medical students and residents.

  • Proficiency in electronic health record documentation and clinical workflow optimization.

Required Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Successful completion of Internal Medicine residency program from an ACGME-accredited program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible at time of interview

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical education
