Job Summary
East Tennessee State University, Quillen College of Medicine (ETSU QCOM), Department of Medical Education, invites applications from community physicians who are retired or have availability and a passion for teaching. This part-time opportunity supports the education of medical students in pre-clinical and/or clinical settings.

Responsibilities Include:
Â
- Facilitate small-group or large-group teaching sessions within the pre-clinical or clinical curriculum
- Engage learners using active learning strategies and case-based instruction
- Provide clinical context and real-world application of foundational science concepts
- Participate in student assessment activities (e.g., formative feedback, OSCEs, or case discussions)
- Collaborate with course directors and faculty to align teaching with learning objectives
- Serve as a professional role model and mentor for medical students

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to teach and engage learners at varying levels of training
- Familiarity with or willingness to adopt active learning and team-based learning approaches
- Commitment to medical education and student development
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary educational team

Required Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- MD or DO degree with active or prior clinical practice experience
