ROLE SUMMARY
Greenix Pest Control is seeking a Data Warehouse Engineer to own the raw, bronze, and silver layers of our data platform with some duties in gold layer fact and dim modeling, as part of our migration to Snowflake. This role is responsible for building reliable data ingestion pipelines, orchestrating and monitoring data flows, and ensuring the freshness, quality, and auditability of source data that feeds our analytics and reporting. This role partners closely with the analytics team, who own the dimensional modeling and business-view (gold layer) work built on top of this foundation. The successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail in pipeline design, a sense of curiosity to build effective solutions and grow their own skills, and an ownership attitude. Your experience as a data warehouse engineer or analytics engineer will be valuable to success in this role. Â

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines, including connector development and API integrations for sources not natively supportedÂ
- Design, schedule, and monitor data orchestration workflows, ensuring pipelines run reliably and failures are caught earlyÂ
- Implement source auditing and freshness alerting to proactively identify stale, missing, or malformed data before it reaches downstream consumersÂ
- Write efficient, well-documented Python and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and troubleshootingÂ
- Monitor pipeline health, diagnose root causes of data quality issues, and implement durable fixesÂ
- Maintain the raw, bronze, and silver data layers in Snowflake, ensuring a clean handoff to the analytics team's transformation and modeling workÂ
- Contribute to standards and best practices for pipeline design, testing, version control, and documentationÂ
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Â
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a data/technology field (e.g., economics, computer science, or information systems) OR demonstrated experience in a data warehouse work environment.
Skills and Experience:
- 2–5 years of experience in a data engineering, ETL/ELT, or related analytics engineering roleÂ
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining data ingestion pipelines (e.g., Airbyte, Fivetran, Stitch, or custom scripts)Â
- Experience with pipeline orchestration/scheduling tools (e.g., Orchestra, Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, Azure Data Factory)Â
- Strong SQL skills, plus working proficiency in Python for scripting and automationÂ
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred, or a comparable platform with willingness to specialize in Snowflake)Â
- Understanding of data quality, governance, lineage, and monitoring/alerting practicesÂ
- Ability to work cross-functionally with analysts and business stakeholders to understand source systems and data needsÂ
