Radiology/Imaging Services unit provides high-quality diagnostic and interventional imaging services, including wide range of medical imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and other imaging techniques to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. Valuing and ensuring patient care, patient comfort, safety, and adherence to imaging protocols are paramount while collaborating with healthcare professionals, quality control, and the adoption of new technologies while maintaining quality control measures for equipment and processes, adhering to strict safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards are key functions. 

How you’ll contribute  

An Echosonographer who excels in this role: 

  • Maintains a positive attitude at all times with staff and patients in accordance with IPE training.

  • Demonstrates ability to perform all echocardiographic procedures offered by the Cardiac Diagnostic Center to include; echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, pediatric echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms. 

  • Uses Epic to coordinate the workflow of patients and documents when needed.

  • Participates in training new employee and students as directed by dept. manager.

  • Maintain effective, efficient use and disposal of chemicals and other materials.

  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines. Report unsafe conditions.

  • Participates in department manual reviews.

  • Maintains inventory of supplies.

  • Maintains equipment utilizing manufacturer’s instructions/guidelines.

  • Maintains confidentiality regarding patient/employee information as per HIPAA guidelines.

  • Maintains competency in designated testing areas with certifying body (i.e. ARDMS, CCI, etc.).

  • Notify physician of completed studies and/or any serious of life threatening results.

  • Notify appropriate nursing personnel regarding unstable patient.

  • Complete required education including CPR as required.

  • Attends monthly staff meetings and Huddles.

  • Complies with scheduling, overtime, and on call requirements.

What we’re looking for  
Applicants should be a graduate of an ultrasound sonography training program. Additional requirements include: 

  • Internship experience in performing diagnostic ultrasound.
  • Technologists must meet ARDMS or CCI criteria for Registry Eligible.
