Job DetailsJob Location: JOHNSTOWN, NY 12095Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $85,000.00 - $106,000.00 Salary/yearThis position ensures that our products meet or exceed quality standards and meet regulatory requirements. You will be critical in identifying and resolving quality issues, implementing quality improvement processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product reliability and performance, providing leadership to QC Inspection staff. Job Requirements: Supervisory Responsibilities Hire and train Quality Inspection staff. Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department. Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.  Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. Collaborate with leadership on quality improvements and strategic direction Quality Assurance Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures. Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards. Identify and document quality issues and work to resolve them promptly. Process Improvement Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement. Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence. Use statistical methods and tools to monitor and improve product quality. Documentation and Reporting Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and corrective actions. Prepare and present quality reports and metrics to management and stakeholders. Ensure proper documentation for compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. Collaboration Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to address quality concerns and support product development. Provide training and guidance on quality standards and best practices to team members. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality standards are met. Compliance and Standards Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to quality assurance. Ensure that products and processes comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies. Strong knowledge of ISO9001 quality standards and experience working in an ISO regulated environment. QualificationsRequired Experience / Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 10 years’ experience in quality engineering or a similar role in a machine shop or contract manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools. Proficiency in using quality measurement tools and software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards. Strong blueprint and secondary document knowledge Proficient in GT&D Requirement Familiarity with various metals and their characteristics Preferred Experience / Education: Prior experience working in a metal fabrication business. Additional Requirements: Physical Demands (details based on primary work location noted above): Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and bend, and regularly wear safety PPE properly, such as respirators, hearing and eye protection, and safety footwear. Required to be standing for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
