Neonatal critical care unit consisting of RNs, clinical associate, and advanced providers. Providing care, during a 12 hour shift, using critical thinking skills and collaboration with other team members

How you’ll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

Maintains competency in all procedures pertaining to neonates (i.e. assisting with intubation, maintenance of arterial/central lines, nursing care of ventilated patients, cardiac monitoring, emergency placement of umbilical venous catheter, arterial sticks-where applicable)
Assumes responsibility for IV starts and maintenance. Administration of Blood and Blood products.
Supports Department’s Developmental Care Protocols (i.e. Kangaroo Care, Infant Massage, Car Seat and Safety Program, and Family CPR, Safe Sleep)
Participates in Neonatal transports (ground/air), high-risk deliveries, and C-Sections.
Maintains competency in Neonatal Resuscitation.
Coordinates activities in code situation according to protocol/policy.
Provides in-house supportive care to departments as needed.
Provides coverage to sister unit as needed.
Willingness to participate in community outreach programs.

What we’re looking for
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

Active Pennsylvania RN license (single-state or compact) required. If relocating, the license must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
One year of hospital and/or neonatal experience preferred
Certification - NAACOG; Neonatal Resuscitation Certification. Preferred
Current CPR.
