Our nursing team is committed to providing safe, compassionate, and efficient patient-centered care. Nurse Technicians work closely with Registered Nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to support patients throughout their care experience.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Nurse Technician performs basic patient care activities and unit support tasks that promote patient safety, efficient care, and patient throughput. This role assists patients with activities of daily living, routine monitoring, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked patient care environment.

The Nurse Technician also supports nursing and physician staff, assists with tech desk operations, and plays an important role in maintaining an organized and responsive department.

How you’ll contribute

A Nurse Technician who excels in this role:

· Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by a Registered Nurse.

· Monitors and records vital signs accurately and reports findings to the appropriate nursing staff.

· Performs blood glucose measurements as applicable and within the scope of assigned responsibilities.

· Accurately measures and documents patient intake and output.

· Assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, and ambulation.

· Observes patients for changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition and promptly reports abnormal findings to nursing staff.

· Supports patient safety by maintaining clean, organized, and appropriately stocked patient rooms and common areas.

· Manages the tech desk and provides support to nursing and physician staff as needed.

· Assists with department operations and patient throughput to promote efficient delivery of care.

· Documents patient care activities accurately and according to established unit standards.

· Communicates effectively with patients, families, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.

· Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality when handling demographic, clinical, insurance, financial, and medical record information.

· Follows established infection prevention, bloodborne pathogen, and safety procedures.

· Participates in required education, training, and performance improvement activities.

· Demonstrates critical thinking and sound judgment while working in a fast-paced and potentially stressful healthcare environment.

· Maintains proficiency with applicable computer programs and department software systems.

· Completes required Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

· Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should be committed to providing compassionate patient care and possess the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Additional requirements include:

· Education: High School diploma preferred.

· Certification: BCLS required.

· Licensure: SRNA or EMT preferred.

· Additional Certification: Handle with Care preferred.

· Demonstrated critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

· Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment while appropriately prioritizing patient care responsibilities.

· Ability to quickly learn and effectively navigate multiple software systems.

· Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.

· Ability to complete the required Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

· Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including frequent standing, walking, reaching, repetitive movements, kneeling, and assisting with lifting or moving patients.

· Ability to work safely in an environment where occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens, communicable diseases, biohazardous materials, hazardous chemicals or medications, and latex may occur.

This position may provide care and support to patients across the lifespan, including neonates, infants, early childhood, late childhood, adolescents, young adults, middle adults, and older adults.
