Refrigeration Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, and display cases
• Diagnose system issues such as temperature inconsistencies, refrigerant leaks, and compressor failures
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
• Monitor and adjust system controls to ensure proper temperature and energy efficiency
• Handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA and environmental regulations
• Respond promptly to refrigeration emergencies to prevent product loss
• Install and replace refrigeration components including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and valves
• Maintain accurate service records, logs, and documentation
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and food safety regulations
• Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for major repairs or installations
• Assist with related mechanical or HVAC tasks as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of commercial refrigeration experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and diagnostics
• Experience with HVAC systems is a plus
• Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics

Benefits: 

Pay Rate: $20 - $55 per hour, depending on experience
