Ethics Agency Overview
The Ethics Commission establishes rules for the ethical conduct of campaigns, state officers, and employees. It investigates and may prosecute alleged violations of the Ethics Rules and other laws assigned by law. The Commission maintains the reporting system and reports for state political committees, others engaged in political activity, Lobbyists, State Agency Liaisons, and Personal Financial Disclosure for Elected Officials.
Job Duties
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform advanced level reviews and/or audits of the registrations and financial reports to determine compliance with the law and policies of the Commission
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Identify areas of potential noncompliance, document those areas, recommend corrective actions to bring entities into compliance, notify filers and monitor accounts for corrections and improvements
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Identify issues that need to be escalated for further investigation.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Work with management to identify issues which may be violations of Ethics Rules which require further investigation and/or legal action
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Compile reports, records, and other pertinent material to complete case files.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform interviews of parties related to cases, including written or recorded statements to establish facts
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Prepare summarized statements of interviews
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Recommend improvements in policy, changes in reporting processes to improve compliance with the Rules
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist filers with the online reporting system through one on one or group trainings/education
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Reconcile financial reports with bank statements and other documentation
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform user acceptance training on reporting system
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 May serve as Team Leader
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Compliance Investigator may perform other tasks as assigned.

A Compliance Investigator needs a distinct set of skills to successfully perform this role.

Compliance Investigator III Education
Bachelor鈥檚 degree in business, political science, accounting, or related field
(Preferred) 6 or more years with State or Government service and/or accounting/auditing service
