Job DetailsJob Location: Jonesboro, AR 72404 POSITION PURPOSE  This Manager, Manufacturing has the primary responsibility for overseeing and improving the manufacturing operations overall efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, safety, and quality for an identified value stream. This position is responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for processes, equipment functionality, costing, waste, and productivity. This includes responsibility for analyzing production and transactional processes to identify the cause of problems using problem-solving methodologies, and then working to create and implement solutions.  The Manufacturing Leader is the face and point of contact to the business and functional teams (Sales, planning, quality and procurement) in the development, implementation and managing the operational plans for their respective lines.  The position is also responsible for the leadership and mentoring to drive high performance work teams to ensure results meet Company defined requirements and standards in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices. This position is responsible for individual team member performance including selection and training of employees, development and performance management, and adherence to Company policies in a lean and highly productive work- environment.  Support the value stream with specific product-related information Act as the key liaison to production cross-functionally Provide shift to shift consistency within area of responsibility. Drive initiatives in the area of focus in an inclusive manner with the teams (covers CAPEX) Facilitates action planning to drive performance improvements within the area of responsibility. Work with production supervisors and other value stream leaders to ensure overall plant performance goals are achieved.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES  Responsible for the overall direction and control of a high-speed, high-volume line(s) within the site. This includes organizing and directing the business on all work shifts, by providing leadership, guidance, planning, and support to all departments, including production teams, quality assurance, safety, procurement and industrial maintenance. Responsible for continuous improvement processes to include projects, initiatives, process implementation, and problem-solving practices for manufacturing associates and equipment. Utilize lean manufacturing tools and methodologies to analyze, measure, and improve processes, reduce costs, and increase productivity for short and long term solutions. Drive Safety performance and awareness, as a value into the teams and individuals. Perform Safety audits and mentor team members for compliance with Company policies and safe practices. Ensure that all associates perform their jobs in a safe manner complying with Company safety standards and safety policies. Investigate and report all accidents and near misses that occur. Mentor and direct team members in the resolution of issues, which adversely affect production, material usage and quality. Train on lean tools and methodologies. Ensure compliance to company policies, cGMPs, SOPs, WIs, etc. Establish a mutually supportive and effective interface with other production teams, their leaders, and production support services. Utilizing necessary resources identify and resolve machine downtime and delay, quality defects, OEE losses, raw material problems, etc.  Oversee the performance and productivity for the value stream. Take necessary action to ensure associates achieve and maintain the highest possible performance levels. Ensure that all team members are trained to perform the functions to which they are assigned. Ensure that all team members know how to effectively perform all necessary product assembly, quality, safety, materials control, and production functions, including accurate preparation of daily reports. Conduct team meetings with intent to provide feedback, communicate change, and identify action items utilized in developing continuous improvement plans. Is responsible for items such as TPM (Total Productive Mfg.) variances, validation as it pertains to process controls, obstacles in attaining production speeds, CAPA pertaining to repeat offenders, crewing level reduction that is initiative based, reject reduction process-wise, theoretical performance gaps. Acts as the process owner regarding sample requests and new products. Works across functional area to drive projects to completion. Actively works with all shifts in their area of responsibility on key initiatives.  #LI-DC1 Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS  EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: BS degree in manufacturing, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or engineering technology, or related field; or equivalent experience Lean manufacturing certification a plus Six Sigma certification a plus REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of lean or six sigma tools and methodologies Ability to coach, mentor, and lead in a high performance work team environment Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Good math skills with the ability to utilize SPC and other statistical tools Willing to work varied shift assignments as required Knowledge of cGMP and other FDA-related regulations Strong computer skills with the ability to organize, interpret, and present data. ISO experience helpful EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 3-5 years’ experience working in a supervisory or leadership capacity in a lean, high speed manufacturing environment. Working in an OTC drug manufacturing environment, tissue, food packaging or nonwoven converting operation is plus SKILLS/ABILITIES: Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal Handles conflicts in professional manner Willing to train on CGMP requirements and company policies and procedures   WORKING CONDITIONS  NONE: No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
