Overview

The Education Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation and management of the educational  components of the school. The Education Supervisor assists the Principal in ensuring all state specific regulatory requirements, as well as national accreditation standards. The Education Supervisor also ensures that instructional best practices are developed and implemented throughout the school.

Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

• Maintain a safe learning environment for students within the scope of the Arrow Center for Education Schools administrative policies and procedures.

• Hire or participate in the hiring process of instructional staff.

• Provide and document direct individual and group supervision to teachers and practicum students according to policy and/or practicum requirements.

• Evaluate performance of instructional staff, practicum students.

• Conduct both evaluation and non-evaluation classroom observations to support instructional development of the teaching team.

• Conduct staff development training, according to identified needs.

• Assist in the assessment, design and implementation of the professional development program.

• Coordinate daily classroom staffing.

• Assist in the development and maintenance of a positive school culture.

• Maintain proper rules, safety and security of students, providing crisis intervention when necessary.

• Manage library, media center, instructional materials and technology resources of the school.

• Together with the Principal and other administrators, continually assesses the overall program to assure optimum functioning as well as COMAR compliance.

• Inform the Principal of all relevant situations. • Attend trainings and meetings as required.

• Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards.

• May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education or in a related field required. Master’s degree, at least 3 years of experience in special education including experience with state assessments and 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. Must be eligible for and must obtain a valid Maryland State Department of Education Teaching License within 60 days of hire.
