Licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Position Summary

The BCBA provides behavioral services and clinical oversight for individuals with developmental disabilities and complex behavioral needs. Responsibilities include conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), developing and monitoring Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), supervising Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and direct support staff, analyzing behavioral data, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to improve participant outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and identify function-based interventions
  • Develop, implement, and revise individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
  • Provide ongoing supervision and mentorship to RBTs and direct support staff
  • Monitor behavioral progress through data collection and analysis
  • Train staff, caregivers, and team members on behavioral interventions and implementation strategies
  • Collaborate with participants, families, nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other service providers
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and treatment planning discussions
  • Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation, progress notes, and required reports
  • Support positive behavior approaches that enhance quality of life and independence
  • Maintain compliance and organizational standards

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
  • California behavior analyst licensure, when applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of BCBA experience providing behavioral services to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, behavioral health disorders, or complex behavioral needs
  • Experience conducting FBAs and developing BSPs
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and clinical leadership skills

Preferred

  • Residential, crisis stabilization, severe behavior, or dual-diagnosis experience
  • Experience supervising RBTs and behavior support teams
  • Knowledge of California Regional Center services and Title 17 regulations

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong clinical assessment and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Commitment to person-centered, trauma-informed care

Physical Demands:

  • Light work – Exert up to 20lbs of force occasionally and /or up to 10lbs of force frequently.

Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree with Licensed BCBA Professional in the state of California
  • Two (2) years’ experience providing behavior supports for individuals with IDD and with mental health diagnosis
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in designing, supervising, and implementing behavior modifications
  • Demonstrated ability to support individuals with behavioral challenges
  • Competency in writing supports plans and effective verbal communication skills
  • Capacity to train and mentor others
  • Ability to perform duties with limited supervision
  • Flexibility in scheduling and availability for onsite support
  • Experience in supervising Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) is required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
