Summary

We are seeking candidates with some electronics and/or mechanical ability to join our new SMT Operator Apprenticeship Program.  Selected candidates will have an opportunity to learn the Printed Circuit Board Assembly processes and procedures required to meet our customer contracts.  Candidates must be local to the Melbourne, FL area and able to work Monday – Friday: 1st shift 7:00am – 3:30pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain screen printers, glue machines, reflow ovens, SMT placement machines, stencil cleaners, conveyors, and other equipment used in the assembly of Printed Circuit Boards.
  • Interface with complex machine hardware and software.
  • Identify and report defective components.
  • Inspect own work to ensure accuracy and integrity of work performed.
  • Ensure product meets established workmanship standards.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions and maintain data logs.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the work area and surrounding workspace.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of work-in-process.
  • Participate in quality teams as required.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Knowledge of Shop Floor System.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to work with all levels of employees in a diverse environment.
  • ISO 9001 experience desirable.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
  • US Person as defined in 22 CRF Part 120.15 (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees and those given asylum in the United States, and temporary residents granted amnesty) since work includes ITAR controlled technical data.
