What You'll Do:

The Distribution Lead advocates for the Shipping Department, the Distribution Lead champions outbound shipment and inventory accuracy and optimization. The Distribution Lead is a dependable problem-solver, responsible for leading the activities required for safely and efficiently shipping product and materials, addressing International and Domestic order fulfillment and facilitating the Shipping Department and Litter-specific supplies and materials staging. 


This position is for Second Shift.

 

2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Overtime and weekend work may be required


 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify resources, perform workload assignments and provide assistance when needed
  • Consistently monitor Domo and Whisker reports ensuring Shipping and Litter can achieve daily expectations - transfers resources to other areas within the department as needed
  • Collaborate in a professional manner across all levels of the organization to ensure the company's goals, and objectives are met
  • Assist in inventory management activities including requesting stock, receiving, storing, rotating, and cycle counting 
  • Responsible for communication to outside vendors regarding pick up needs
  • Collaborate with leadership across the organization to ensure expectations are met on a daily basis
  • Provide leadership with reports related to the departments daily output
  • Assist with implementation of new customer roll out programs
  • Train new hires/department transfer employees on the departments policies and procedures
  • Evaluate the department plans and goals, ensuring that associates are set up accordingly
  • Prepare, plan, and carry out work schedules, rotations, and line-ups as well as  assign associates to the necessary tasks/areas, ensuring continuous and efficient productivity
  • Effectively communicate interdepartmentally to ensure that orders are completed in a timely manner
  • Maintain and delegate responsibilities to ensure that the department is operating in a tidy fashion that aligns with company policy
  • Champion process improvement and productivity initiatives that will help drive a positive impact for the organization while maintaining safety quality
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with coworkers, to achieve positive morale and cooperation
  • Understands, calculates and communicates Key Performance Indicator (KPI) measurements and metric expectations
  • Perform working lead responsibilities, including but not limited to:  fill in for employee absences, loads tractor-trailers and other vehicles
  • Confirms the accuracy of outgoing shipments
  • Performs additional responsibilities when required

Requirements

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 60 lbs
  • Able to bend, climb ladders, pull, push, reach as needed  
  • Ability to work in various temperatures
  • Able to follow directions, use hand and power tools
  • Mechanical aptitude and good dexterity are helpful in this role
  • Must have a positive attitude 
  • Must be an efficient worker that is organized and detail oriented
  • Able to work in a fast-paced assembly environment 
  • Must be eager to learn different areas of the company 

Not Required but nice to have!

  • Working experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Working experience in a Shipping Department is preferred
