You'll have the opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborate with experienced industry professionals, and help drive the continued growth and success of our organization. We are seeking an experienced Grading & Earthwork Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including site development, mass grading, earthwork, roadway construction, paving, hardscape and related infrastructure improvements. This position requires a strong understanding of construction methods, production rates, equipment utilization, soil movement, and project logistics. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and company leadership to develop winning bids and ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to operations Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, permits, and contract documents. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for: Clearing and grubbing Excavation and embankment Mass grading Import/export of fill Roadway and paving work Pond and lake excavations Erosion control measures Hardscape and site concrete Utilize estimating software and earthwork modeling software to calculate quantities and production costs. Develop comprehensive project budgets, labor estimates, equipment costs, material pricing, subcontractor costs, and indirect costs. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings as required. Analyze project risks, constructability concerns, and scheduling impacts. Develop haul plans and evaluate dirt balance strategies. Prepare bid proposals, scope clarifications, and value engineering recommendations. Participate in project turnover meetings with operations staff after award. Assist in negotiating change orders and pricing additional work when needed. Stay informed of market conditions, material pricing trends, and subcontractor availability. QualificationsRequired Qualifications Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil, grading, earthwork, or site development construction. Strong understanding of excavation, compaction, grading, drainage, utility, and roadway construction practices. Ability to interpret civil drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and survey information. Experience performing quantity takeoffs from digital plans. Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software. Strong computer skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple bid opportunities simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. Experience estimating projects valued from $1 million to $50+ million. Experience with: HCSS Heavy Bid Agtek Bluebeam Knowledge of FDOT, municipal, county, and private site development projects. Understanding of GPS machine control systems and earthwork modeling.
