About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager with a strong background in food manufacturing to oversee daily operations at our Mira Loma facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient production flow, maintaining high-quality standards, and leading a team in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on leadership, deep knowledge of food production processes, and the ability to drive continuous improvement.

The Production Manager also ensures compliance with SQF and Food Safety procedures, enforces safety rules, and maintains a clean, safe, and efficient production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand and maximize efficiency.
  • Lead, supervise, and support production teams to meet output and quality targets.
  • Drive safety initiatives, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance management for production staff.
  • Participate in month‑end inventory counts, including one Saturday per month.
  • Monitor production processes and identify opportunities to improve throughput and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with QA, logistics, procurement, and other departments to align production with customer and delivery requirements.
  • Assist with investigations related to contamination, safety incidents, or employee concerns, ensuring proper documentation and corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update training documents to support employee development.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement effective, sustainable solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Deep understanding of food manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality standards.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret KPIs, and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Proficiency with production planning tools and ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience in the tortilla industry is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, production processes, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Senior‑level leadership and team‑building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP systems and production planning software.
  • Background in high‑volume, fast‑paced food production environments.
