Job Description

As a Airport Security Officer in Kailua-Kona, HI, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of all passengers, staff, and airport facilities. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, engaging with the public, and delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication. Position Type: Full Time - Morning 

Pay Rate: $22.50 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $1.96. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

Requirements 

  • Valid Driver's License
  • 21+ years of age
  • Have ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical exam
  • Ability to obtain AOA badge (Federal Background Check in ordinance with DOT requirements)

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, passengers, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with on-site personnel and local authorities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of terminals, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Support access control by checking identification and/or credentials, monitoring entrances and restricted areas, and directing individuals to proper screening and check-in points as needed.
  • Complete detailed patrol logs and incident reports, document security-related observations, and communicate updates to supervision per post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
