JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

JOB TITLE:  Intern, Engineering                              FLSA STATUS:  Non Exempt

 

REPORTS TO:  Engineering Manager

 

 

SUMMARY

This is technical work that involves assisting project engineering with the development and design of one or more components involved in a product. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Under general supervision will perform the following tasks:

 

  • Build prototype and pre-production parts
  • Assist Project Engineers in sample tooling
  • Assist Project Engineers as assigned
  • Participate in Product Development Team (PDT) meetings
  • Mock up existing parts to simulate potential changes or new products
  • Mock up testing and analysis to determine if proposed changes are effective
  • Inspection and documentation of incoming and outgoing product
  • Inventory of engineering samples at build area and tracking of defective product
  • Assist in in part dimensional verification (SDS)
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Enrollment in an Engineering degree program. 

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Possess the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
  • Follow work instructions from engineering team.
  • Minimum Score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel of this position up to 5%.
