Compassion - We are inspired to help others and committed to a workplace of kindness, understanding, and respecting others’ diverse perspectives and experiences SUMMARY The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation, shipping, and receiving operations. This role ensures the efficient movement of goods, compliance with regulations, cost control, and the effective supervision of logistics personnel to support overall operational goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manage activities related to incoming material shipments, incoming OSF orders, and transfer orders to and from SAPS facilities Oversee daily transportation activities, including carrier coordination, routing, and scheduling. Oversee inbound and outbound freight to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries. Monitor freight costs and implement cost-saving initiatives. Oversee compliance with DOT, safety, and company transportation policies. Oversee shipping and receiving operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation. Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to align inventory flow and production schedules. Resolve discrepancies related to shipments, damages, or shortages. Ensure proper handling, storage, and movement of materials. Supervisory responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Promote a safe work environment by monitoring activities in Shipping/Material Handling Department and OSF areas, including the loading/off-loading of company trucks. Monitor upcoming shipment report to ensure product is delivered on time Follow ISO policies and procedures as required Must be able to interact in person with peers and the public. Must be able to handle high stress situations. Must be willing and able to travel as needed, up to 15% of the time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   QualificationsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or distribution operations required. Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required. Knowledge of DOT and transportation compliance regulations required. Previous supervisory or management experience required. Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, and transportation processes required. Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing processes strongly preferred.  SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and techniques for maximizing the effective movement of products Ability to speak in front of large groups including supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates Ability to actively listen by giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate  PHYSICAL DEMANDS Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Routinely required to stand and walk; use hands to handle and feel; reach with arms and hands; as well as climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds Routinely performs repetitive movements such as bending, twisting, reaching, lifting and pulling Specific vision requirements include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to wear all necessary safety equipment.  ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Routinely work in a noisy environment. Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
