Follow all safety rules and guidelines as outlined by Immanuel Living. Follow all OSHA regulations and Life Safety Codes. Deep-clean resident rooms on a weekly basis; spot-check daily. Clean all toilets daily. Run large dust mop throughout facility, as needed. Vacuum carpets daily. Change urine mops and water daily. Mop lobby area and resident dining rooms daily. Run scrubbing machine on hallways and in dining rooms as needed. Clean common areas daily. Clean windows and screens as needed. Clean Nurses stations, medicine rooms, nourishment rooms, bathing areas, and soiled linen rooms daily. Vacuum residents’ furniture, as needed. Buff floors of resident rooms. Wax all residents’ rooms as needed. Wax all common areas and dining room floors as needed (all housekeepers will work night shift to complete this task when required). Check vacuums daily, change bags as needed, and report any needed repairs to supervisor. Dispose of all infectious waste in the proper manner. Deliver clean linens and laundry to residents; assist with Laundry duties if needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervision / Leadership Serve as a role model for the Immanuel Spirit. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Decision Making This position may make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Decisions, final recommendations, and/or errors made by the incumbent may affect guests/residents and other staff in the unit/department that this position is assigned to but may, on occasion, affect all staff of Immanuel Living. Job duties typically involve frequently changing conditions and problems, requiring considerable judgment in applying factual background and fundamental principles to the development of approaches and techniques for the solution of problems. This position cannot authorize exceptions to Corporate policy or procedure. Documentation Complete documentation required by the Environmental Services department and regulatory agencies. Communication Effectively work and communicate with a wide range of individuals from all socio-economic groups, including geriatric guests/residents and those with special needs. Communicate verbally and in writing to other staff members regarding housekeeping issues. Communicate with supervisor on a routine basis. Participate in training and/or meetings that help facilitate the departmental communication process.
