In addition the position supports the foundational math courses and administers the math placement test.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES Instructs students in math skills through individualized instruction in the Foundational Math Center Proctors quizzes and exams for all foundational math courses Creates and manages course records, assists in archiving online course materials, and assists instructors with enrolling new students each semester Assembles course materials for foundational math instructors Collaborates with foundational math faculty on academic topics and student needs for math instructions Coordinates with the Math Department for course shell edits, scheduling and course management Oversees math placement exam and score reporting into FVCC’s administrative and student information database in collaboration with supervisor, Coordinator of Math and Science Tutoring Proctors FVCC’s math placement exam and explains placement results; proctors math General Education and Related Instruction assessments and other placement tests as needed Instructs a foundational math course when necessary Monitors and tracks student attendance in the Foundational Math Center Recommends methods and policies for continuous improvement to supervisor Actively participates in the development of a climate that promotes and supports innovation and improved services to students and the community Actively promotes a culture of customer service within a collaborative, team-oriented environment, researching, analyzing and resolving issues that arise in assigned areas and addressing them in a proactive and timely manner Develops and completes special projects as directed Stays well-informed of best practices for student success, academic instruction, and academic skills development Attends related trainings, workshops, and professional development Cross trains to perform other departmental and team functions; backfills for staff as needed Actively participates in the development of a climate that promotes and supports innovation and efforts to continuously improve services to students, faculty, and the College Creates and maintains a collaborative and collegial environment with colleagues and maintains effective working relationships Maintains professional ethics and confidentiality of students in accordance with applicable laws and policies Advances the mission of FVCC by serving on or convening committees and contributing in the community in college-related activities Performs other duties as assigned Reports to the Coordinator, Math and Science Lab.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in math, math education, or related field, AND One year of experience with individualized instruction/tutoring, OR One year of experience in developmental teaching   PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS Experience instructing students in foundational math with firm understanding from Prealgebra to Calculus Experience teaching developmental math at a community college Experience with course building and course management with online software   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of foundational mathematics Knowledge and skill in designing, managing, or implementation in the fields of individualized instruction and teaching Experience working with disadvantaged or developmental students Experience with individualized instruction/tutoring Working knowledge of software programs for spreadsheets and word-processing Ability to work within policies and procedures of FVCC                  Ability and willingness to serve as an ambassador for the College by interacting appropriately with the college community and community Ability to maintain effective and positive professional relationships             Ability to follow and issue directions                                     Demonstrated communication, technology, presentation, customer service and interpersonal skills                                                                                                                        Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds   Ability to intermittently work non-traditional schedules including evenings, weekends, etc. Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance levels                        Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality                                      Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check                                                     Ability to respond in the event of an emergency This is a Medium Duty job, according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles, U.S. Department of Labor and Industry.    Medium Duty involves exertion of 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects.   APPLICATION PROCEDURE: In order to be considered for this position, applicants must apply online at https://www.fvcc.edu/about/careers-at-fvcc;
