IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS POSITION:

  • All positions require availability to work 8 hour shifts on a regular schedule and availability to work overtime as needed.  Overtime is occasionally scheduled on a volunteer basis but some overtime will be forced based on seniority.

  • This is a 24/7 manufacturing facility, and positions will require working weekend, holidays, and on any shift (day, evening or night).   Shift schedules may change based on seniority and days off will be based on the needs within the department.

  • This is a union-represented position requiring successful candidates to join the local 498C UFCW union.  All wages and benefits are defined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Role that this position reports to:  Maintenance Services Supervisor and/or Maintenance Services VS Sr Manager

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment in completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, establishing personal network.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Completes any other duties/responsibilities assigned by senior management.
     

Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements: 

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or Trade Certificate preferred
     

Experience

  • 3 years in Maintenance experience.

  • 1 year in area of expertise (e.g. Electronics, Electricity, Refrigeration, Machinist, Machine Repair, Millwright).

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility or regulated environment strongly desired.

Union rate for this probationary position is $49.02 per hour.
