Summary

 

The Chemical Engineer II role is a professional level position performing routine to moderately complex engineering functions on assigned projects or sub-projects of a general nature by applying standard mathematical, physical science, and/or engineering technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the design and/or project/process management of new and current products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment under technical guidance of higher-level technical experts.
  • Assists in the development of test procedures and performance of routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work.
  • Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, and makes recommendations for product, test equipment, procedures and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce flowtime.
  • Defines and acquires tooling, gauging and other  equipment necessary to manufacture/inspect parts to assure product quality.
  • Partners and interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to assist in resolving moderately complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
  • Supports evaluation and provide input regarding technological advances that improve productivity and quality, reduce flowtime, and enhance operational surety.
  • Provides peer mentorship and support when applicable.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program or Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from an accredited program;
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities;
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time; 
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business; 
  • Regular and reliable attendance as it is an essential function of this job;
  • United States Citizenship; and
  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
