Summary

The Commercial Loan Accounting Supervisor oversees a small team within Loan Operations responsible for loan transaction processing, loan accounting, and servicing activities across the bank’s loan portfolio. This role supports commercial, business, participation/syndication, and select consumer loan functions, ensures accurate general ledger reconciliation and reporting, and contributes to efficient, compliant loan operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Loan Operations associates performing loan accounting, transaction processing, and servicing activities across commercial and consumer loan portfolios.
  • Coordinate daily workflow and assign work to ensure timely and accurate processing of loan transactions and related accounting activities.
  • Oversee key loan accounting functions, including wire processing, transaction posting, general ledger reconciliation, and system maintenance.
  • Support loan lifecycle events such as loan closings, advances, charge-offs, OREO transfers, and loan payoffs.
  • Review and maintain loan-related reports and assist with required internal, regulatory, and investor reporting, including SBA and consumer loan collections reporting as applicable.
  • Provide operational support for participation and affiliate loan activities, as needed.
  • Leverage RPA and AI-driven tools to automate repetitive tasks, enhance workflow efficiency, and drive ongoing improvements and monitoring of loan operations processes.
  • Ensure adherence to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop associates through regular feedback, training, and performance management; typically supervises 1–4 associates.
  • Participate in team meetings, departmental projects, and cross-functional initiatives to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular meetings and provide frequent feedback to associates to develop them and provide a career path.
  • Protect all client and bank information confidentially and follow all company policies.
  • Complete monthly training in a timely manner to ensure knowledge of bank regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Other specified duties as assigned. 

 

Compensation & Benefits

The Commercial Loan Acctng Supv position pays a minimum of $35.50 per hour.

Qualifications

 

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete work accurately.
  • Ability to organize work and strong time management skills
  • Detail oriented, analytical, organized, and a problem solver able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Familiarity with RPA platforms (e.g. UiPath) and AI driven tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot)

 

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, preferred.
  • 7 + years accounting, banking, or commercial & syndication loan experience, preferred.

 

Physical Requirements

The work environment is typical of a standard office or retail banking setting.  The position is sedentary, involving sitting most of the workday; however, the position will involve moving about the workspace to reach entrances/exits, restrooms, conference rooms, or other areas within the work environment.  Reaching may be required involving the ability to move arms in any direction.  Office equipment, such as a computer and telephone, will be used requiring the ability to manipulate a keyboard, mouse, and/or keypad.  The ability to decipher a computer screen or written documents is necessary. The ability to express or exchange ideas; impart information to clients, coworkers, or the public; or to convey detailed or important instructions; is required. The ability to receive and understand detailed information shared through oral or written communication is required. Position requires lifting and/or the exerting of up to 10 pounds of force.
