Position Summary / Career Interest:

The Commissioning Manager is responsible for commissioning projects and recommissioning systems and sites to meet Hospital goals.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
  • Develop & implement commissioning protocols & standards for existing and new facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, and control systems.
  • Coordinate plans with Engineering leadership and relevant Maintenance and Construction teams.
  • Survey physical and digital systems to identify recommissioning priorities.
  • Work with outside commissioning agents on large projects to develop & implement project commissioning plans.
  • Communicate with team members, project consultants, vendors, and contractors, ensuring compliance with contract and project expectations.
  • With assistance from the department director, review project drawings/ specifications and confirm compliance with engineering project intent and institutional goals; notifying design team if project documents deviate from Hospital objectives or standards.
  • Review documents for compliance with Hospital Facilities standards and site conditions.
  • Maintain Quality Control on department information, including system technical documents.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or in a related field of study from an accredited college or university. OR
  • Associates Degree in related field of study from an accredited college or university AND a technical certification (i.e., HVAC Operations, Boiler Operator, Control Specialist) from a regulatory or Engineering body.
  • 3 or more years of experience with building automation systems, mechanical and electrical equipment.
