FACILITIES ENGINEER


Join the team at Cascade Hotel Kansas City, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio Hotel, and Aloft Kansas City Country Club Plaza, a dual-branded hotel complex located in the heart of the Country Club Plaza. Together, these properties feature nearly 300 guest rooms, over 15,000 square feet of event space, multiple food and beverage outlets, and distinctive guest experiences rooted in hospitality, service, and excellence.

We are seeking a Facilities Engineer to join our Engineering team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the physical condition, safety, and functionality of both hotels while supporting daily operations through preventative maintenance, repairs, and responsive service.


Position Summary


The Facilities Engineer is responsible for performing routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs across all areas of the dual-property complex. This includes guest rooms, public spaces, meeting and event areas, food and beverage outlets, back-of-house spaces, and exterior grounds.


The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and service-oriented, with the ability to troubleshoot a wide range of building systems while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities


• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections across both hotel properties.

• Complete repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, and general building systems.

• Respond promptly to guest room and operational maintenance requests.

• Troubleshoot equipment and system issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.

• Maintain the appearance, functionality, and safety of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.

• Support the upkeep of exterior grounds and building systems across both properties.

• Maintain organized tools, equipment, inventories, and maintenance records.

• Support seasonal maintenance, weather preparedness, and property improvement projects.

• Follow all safety, security, and emergency response procedures.

• Assist with vendor coordination and oversight of contracted maintenance services.

• Provide courteous, professional service when interacting with guests and associates.

• Participate in emergency response situations and after-hours maintenance needs as required.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Required:


• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Ability to perform general maintenance and repair work safely and effectively.

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred:


• Previous hotel, commercial building, apartment, or facilities maintenance experience.

• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and work order systems.

• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building maintenance certifications.

• Experience in a dual-property or high-volume hospitality environment.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Missouri Class E driver’s license if required for shuttle operations.


Schedule Requirements


• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts as business needs require.

• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.

• The hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

• Availability for emergency call-ins is required.
