We are seeking a Cook to join our Culinary team. This position plays an important role in preparing high-quality food, maintaining exceptional food safety standards, and supporting the daily operation of our restaurants, banquet events, and other food and beverage outlets.
 

Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. This position works collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure efficient kitchen operations while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional food and service in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion standards, and quality expectations.

• Set up, stock, and maintain assigned kitchen stations before, during, and after service.

• Ensure food is prepared and presented consistently while meeting established timing and quality standards.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations, including proper food handling, labeling, storage, and temperature controls.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.

• Assist with receiving deliveries, inventory management, product rotation (FIFO), and maintaining appropriate stock levels.

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance concerns to culinary leadership.

• Collaborate with fellow culinary associates and Food & Beverage leadership to ensure smooth daily operations.

• Assist with banquet functions, catered events, seasonal programming, and special hotel events as business needs require.

• Minimize food waste while maintaining proper portion control and cost awareness.

• Maintain professional appearance, teamwork, and a positive attitude while supporting an exceptional guest experience.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications
 

Required:
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, restaurant, hotel, or banquet environment preferred.

• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.

• Knowledge of basic cooking methods, knife skills, and food preparation techniques.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
 

Preferred:

• Experience in a full-service hotel, resort, or upscale restaurant environment.

• Culinary school education or professional culinary certification.

• Experience supporting banquet or large-scale event production.

• Marriott brand experience.
 

Schedule Requirements

• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require.

• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.

• The hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
