Job Description

The Security Shift Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and professional operation of the Security Department during assigned shifts, ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and company property.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and instruct security team members on proper job performance and adherence to departmental protocols to maintain optimal safety and security standards.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings to inform staff of scheduled events, potential security concerns, and operational priorities.
  • Establish and maintain shift schedules while delegating work assignments based on operational needs and staff capabilities.
  • Review, evaluate, and approve all incident reports and documentation prepared during the shift for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and authorize all arrests and respond promptly to emergencies and critical incidents requiring supervisory intervention.
  • Monitor security personnel to ensure consistent adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, procedures, and standards of professional conduct.
  • Provide direct support and assistance to security officers in the performance of assigned duties as operational circumstances require.
  • Execute additional duties and special projects as assigned by senior management.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Fulfillment of all Security Officer position requirements
  • Minimum of six (6) months of professional supervisory experience in casino security or a comparable field
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to effectively supervise, motivate, and develop security team members
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond effectively to emergencies and critical incidents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to conduct briefings, prepare documentation, and communicate clearly with staff at all levels
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required certifications and licenses as mandated by regulatory authorities
  • Capability to stand and walk throughout the duration of a standard shift
  • Physical capacity to perform reaching, kneeling, bending, and sustained moderate to strenuous physical exertion as operational demands require

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in staff training, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution
  • Knowledge of leadership principles and supervisory best practices in security operations
  • Proven ability to maintain professional conduct and enforce compliance with policies and procedures
