Job Description
- Patient Care & Screening:
- Perform professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and protocols.
- Conduct screening for walk-in patients and perform telephone screenings using established clinical protocols.
- Monitor patient health, record vital signs, and report changes in condition to supervising Registered Nurses or physicians.
- Procedures & Treatments:
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed by physicians and provide comprehensive patient education.
- Assist physicians and RNs with medical procedures and examinations.
- Perform wound care, including cleaning wounds and changing dressings.
- Provide specialized care such as suctioning, catheter insertion, tracheostomy care, biopsies, and diabetic nail care.
- Documentation & Administration:
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records within the electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Delegate tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) in accordance with demonstrated competencies and the LPN Scope of Practice.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the clinical environment, adhering to all infection prevention protocols.
- May be assigned Medical Assistant job duties as needed.
