Key Responsibilities: 

  • Readily anticipates and effectively responds to schedules and product flows essential to supervising highly productive, cost-effective, quality-oriented manufacturing operations.
  • Organize, coordinate, and supervise employees and activities to ensure efficient operations that meet safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Establishes and controls procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Assign work to team members to achieve department objectives with respect to production processes, company policies, production schedules, work orders, equipment capacity and employee capabilities.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance fabrication capabilities based on market demand.
  • Establish and monitor procedures to ensure the production of high-quality components.
  • Develop and oversee cost control systems to achieve budget objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and maintenance requirements.
  • Provide training, support, and guidance to foster continuous improvement in work habits, job skills, and safety practices.
  • Assess employee performance and provide constructive feedback for growth.
  • Recommends and initiates improvements to production processes, to increase manufacturing efficiency.
  • Establish and control procedures to ensure production of conforming fabricated assembly components.
  • Monitors and controls established procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Establishes and monitors cost control systems to achieve department budget objectives.
  • Responsible for compliance with safety and housekeeping requirements.
  • Facilitates and promotes company policy and the company Quality Improvement program within all department work groups.
  • Support any material quality concern in terms of getting answers from the required groups within the organization.
  • Provides training, support, direction and guidance to department personnel to continually develop their work habits, job skills and safety practices.
  • Evaluates employee performance and accountability.
  • Provides objective feedback for continued employee growth.
  • Recommends and/or administers personnel actions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Work FEM team meet facility’s FEM goals quarterly, semiannually, and annually.
  • Set department goals and develop outline for achievement.
  • May be exposed to excessive noise, welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions.
  • Open to overtime work as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering,
  • Production Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use fabrication-related software.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to lead diverse teams, with effective listening, coaching, and problem-solving skills while being able to pitch in when needed.
  • Safety Knowledge: Understanding and application of workplace safety procedures.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 45 pounds and perform tasks involving fine and gross motor skills.
