Basic Function and Responsibility:

Oversees the operation, installation, maintenance, and repair of physical structures and equipment, and provides on-site supervision to maintenance staff relative to special construction and renovation projects.

Appointing Authority and Supervision Received:聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The deputy court administrator of family court is the appointing authority.聽 The maintenance supervisor receives direct supervision by the facilities services manager.

Supervision Exercised:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the maintenance worker staff assigned to the unit.

Characteristic and Assigned Duties: (The following duties are representative of the position and do not include all duties which may be performed.)

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Tour and inspect facilities to identify and schedule maintenance jobs to be performed.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Schedule, assign, and coordinate staff.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitor and inspect jobs facilities to ensure quality and timely work.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Troubleshoot and diagnose problems.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Request work orders and monitor the progress of their completion

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform maintenance work to aid in the completion of jobs.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Procure required materials and parts for jobs as necessary, which involves frequent pick-up and delivery to job site.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ensure jobs are done in compliance with established building codes and standards.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coordinate code inspections.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain a preventive maintenance routine.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Respond timely to emergency requests.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Keep supervisor informed as to job status, staff requests, job costs, etc.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist in the planning of jobs and projects.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide direct supervision and training to maintenance staff.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Attend meetings and training.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain communication with staff in regard to facility operation and problems.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Respond to staff requests.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Determine costs for jobs, equipment, and other operational improvements, or changes.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide input and recommendations to reduce maintenance costs.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and other maintenance methods.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of blueprints and schematics, and able to read and interpret the same.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of fire safety codes and operation, asbestos and mold issues.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of public access and accommodations as related to ADA.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of supervisory and personnel procedures.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to apply specialized knowledge to individual problems and to analyze problems and formulate and direct corrective action to prevent further problems.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to operate and use a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and prudent manner.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in a tactful and courteous manner with diverse parties.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to assign, schedule, supervise, and review the work of others.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent plus two years of trade school or equivalent training in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, paints, and skilled trades.聽 Must possess universal EPA certification in HVAC plus have three years of directly related work experience in facility or plant maintenance. A minimum of one year of supervisory experience in maintenance/applicable building codes.

Necessary Special Requirement:聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Must possess and maintain a valid driver鈥檚 license from state of residence and provide proof of such.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Must possess and maintain state mandated auto liability insurance and properly licensed, reliable vehicle, and provide proof of such.
