Responsibilities

Job Summary: As a Meat Cutter, you'll help provide the freshest quality products for the customer through a well-stocked and well-maintained department while providing great customer service by performing all job responsibilities with a sense of ownership and team approach. You'll continuously cut, prepare, tray, and merchandise fresh product on a daily basis, while under the supervision of a Meat Cutter I.Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Production:

  • Cuts, trims, trays, scrapes meat for display, according to company standards, and while partnered with a Meat Cutter I
  • Fill products; chickens, chubs, seasoned meats as needed
  • Operates grinder, saw, knife sharpener, tenderizer, slicer
  • Weighs / wraps / labels product packages for sale
  • Rotates product in meat cooler, sales floor; ensures proper storage practices
  • Consistently communicates to ensure the highest quality and freshness standards are met
  • Practices safety awareness; safely performs meat cutting duties at all times
  • Assists in technical areas as needed

Customer Service:

  • Provides great customer service by cutting meat products and labeling appropriately
  • Answers customers questions regarding products and assists them with selections

Food Safety / Sanitation:

  • Cleans and sanitizes display cases; properly operates / maintains equipment
  • Complies with department / store operating procedures and federal / state regulations

  • Working knowledge of JVSS Meat Cutter training aids and SOPs
  • Working knowledge of product rotation, department / store sanitation, shrink awareness
  • Communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Completion of required job skills and compliance-related training

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
