Community Operations Manager

Elyson | Katy, Texas

Competitive Salary + Comprehensive Benefits + 16 Paid Holidays

Hiring range based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Collaboration. Authenticity. Connection. Balance.

At Cohere, we believe community is the most valuable amenity.

We do more than manage communities-we help create places where people connect, belong, and thrive. By partnering with some of the nation's most innovative master-planned communities, we create places residents are proud to call home and where meaningful relationships flourish.

We're looking for a Community Operations Manager to join our team at Elyson, one of Texas' premier master-planned communities. Spanning more than 3,600 acres, Elyson continues to grow with new neighborhoods, retail, parks, amenities, and recreational opportunities, creating a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

In this role, you'll partner closely with the Executive Director to lead the community's day-to-day operations, oversee its amenities and physical assets, develop a high-performing team, and create the systems and accountability needed to deliver an exceptional resident experience.

This is more than a traditional community management role. It's an opportunity to help shape the future of a nationally recognized community while working alongside residents, Board members, developers, vendors, and a talented team.

If you're a highly organized, proactive leader who enjoys building strong teams, improving operations, and creating places where people truly thrive, we'd love to meet you.

Highlights Include:

  • Employer-paid dental coverage
  • Vision coverage

What You'll Do

Lead Operational Excellence

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the community with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach focused on planning, execution, and accountability.
  • Establish operational priorities, implement efficient systems and standard operating procedures, and ensure work is completed with consistency and a high level of quality.
  • Continuously evaluate operations, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce risk, and address potential issues before they affect residents or community assets.

Develop and Lead the Team

  • Lead, coach, and develop the operations team by setting clear expectations, delegating effectively, and holding team members accountable for results.
  • Build a collaborative, high-performing culture grounded in ownership, communication, continuous improvement, and exceptional service.
  • Empower team members to solve problems and take ownership while providing the support, feedback, and performance management needed for success.

Steward Facilities and Community Assets

  • Oversee the care and readiness of Elyson's parks, pools, recreation facilities, trails, landscape, irrigation systems, lakes, playgrounds, buildings, lighting, signage, and other common-area assets.
  • Develop preventative maintenance programs, conduct regular inspections, coordinate repairs, and maintain accurate asset records to support long-term capital planning.
  • Ensure community spaces remain safe, functional, attractive, and resident-ready while protecting the Association's long-term investment.

Manage Vendors, Budgets, and Risk

  • Prepare scopes of work, coordinate competitive bids, evaluate proposals, recommend vendor selections, and oversee contract performance.
  • Establish clear service expectations, inspect completed work, and hold contractors and service providers accountable for quality, compliance, and results.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation, monitor operational spending, evaluate costs and trends, and support reserve planning and capital improvement projects.
  • Identify and reduce operational risks through inspections, preventative maintenance, emergency preparedness, documentation, and timely corrective action.

Support an Exceptional Resident Experience

  • Communicate clearly about maintenance activities, community improvements, and operational concerns while building trust through consistent follow-through.
  • Provide organized reporting, documentation, recommendations, and operational support to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, committees, and cross-functional partners.
  • Track meaningful performance indicators such as amenity readiness, work order response times, vendor performance, inspection completion, budget adherence, and resident satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, hospitality, community association management, facilities management, construction management, property management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in operations, facilities management, community association management, hospitality, project management, property management, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience supervising, coaching, developing, and managing employees.
  • Professional experience managing amenities, facilities, infrastructure systems, preventative maintenance programs, and capital improvement projects.
  • Experience managing vendors, contracts, consultants, and service providers, including performance oversight and accountability.
