Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

McCormick Assisted Living is seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our nursing team. As an RN, you will provide direct resident care while supervising and supporting the direct care staff to ensure high-quality, resident-centered care. This role is responsible for clinical assessments, medication administration, care planning, documentation, and coordinating care with physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interprets philosophy, objectives and procedures of the organization to personnel including CBRF and RCAC regulations. 
  • Supports the clinical functions within the assisted livings to include, but not limited to: 
    • Understands resident/tenant diagnoses and assists in establishing appropriate approaches and goals. 
    • Provides input to individualized, person centered services plans for each resident/ tenant and observes compliance of the Personal Care Assistants during audits and rounds. 
    • Communicates resident/tenant status through documentation and verbal reports. Reviews charts, orders and service plans on a regular basis. 
    • Attends resident/tenant service plan reviews. 
    • Maintains correspondence, reports, files and records as required by law or as required by the Administrator. 
  • Oversees RN delegation for training, auditing and follow up education of the Personal Care Assistants. 
  • Works closely with assisted living leaders to assure cohesive clinical operations. 
  • Ensures compliance of clinical care systems as required under DHS 83 and DHS 89. 
  • Serves as a clinical resource to Assisted Living Managers for daily resident/tenant clinical needs, changes in condition, assessments and communications with responsible parties, providers, pharmacy, etc. 
  • Fosters positive communication within the assisted living and the organization as a whole including communication to ensure quality transitions within the campus of services. 
  • Provides input on staff performance on a continual basis including the implementation of RN delegated audits. 
  • Investigates and initiates incident reporting in areas of noncompliance. Works closely with the Assisted Living Managers for corrective action in areas related to RN delegated tasks. 


  • Communicates effectively with residents/tenants, families, co-workers, public and referral sources. 
  • Collaborates with Assisted Living Managers for input of policies, procedures, and 
  • Ensures appropriate follow through on incident reports, including but not limited to: abuse allegations, misappropriation or property and injuries of known/unknown origin. 

Required Qualifications

  • Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to supervise and lead nursing staff with professionalism and compassion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional resident-centered care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of CBRF/RCAC regulations desirable.
  • Prior leadership or charge nurse experience.
  • Experience with resident assessments, care planning, and medication administration.
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR).
