Position Summary
McCormick Assisted Living is seeking a dependable and motivated Cook to join our Culinary Services team. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that support the health and well-being of our residents. Working alongside the Dining Services team, you will ensure meals are prepared according to standardized recipes, therapeutic diets, and food safety standards while creating an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare meals according to standardized recipes, prescribed diets, and food safety guidelines.
- Review menus and production sheets to determine daily food preparation needs.
- Ensure food quality, proper portion sizes, texture, and safe serving temperatures.
- Prepare therapeutic and modified diets as directed.
- Coordinate meal preparation to ensure meals are served on time.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchens, food preparation areas, and equipment.
- Receive and inspect food and supply deliveries as needed.
- Assist with training team members on kitchen equipment and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and in-service education.
- Report equipment concerns and supply needs promptly.
- Follow food safety, infection prevention, HIPAA, and workplace safety policies.
Qualifications
- Ability to prepare quality meals in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to food quality, customer service, and food safety.
- Previous cooking experience in healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or commercial food service is preferred.
- Experience preparing therapeutic diets and large-batch meals is a plus.
