Where You’ll Work

Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan, you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Program Therapist, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.Every day, you will be providing psychosocial and diagnostic assessment, conducting psychotherapeutic sessions with patients, reviewing cases in peer supervision, collaborating with consultingphysician and treatment team in the formation of treatment plans and discharge plans.To thrive in this vital role, you will possess keen assessment skills, acute critical thinking, and a patient-first mindset, driven by a profound enthusiasm to help others.   • Conduct therapy sessions with patient by doing individual, group and significant other counseling and education to assist these individuals in achieving defined treatment goals
  • Reviews cases to assure quality of care and constantly seeks ways to improve internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with consulting physician and treatment team in the formation of comprehensive treatment plans and discharge plans
  • Completes assessments, progress notes, group notes and treatment plan updates in accordance with chartingpolicy and procedures

Job Requirements

  • Master’s Degree, Mental Health Counseling or Social Work
  • Must have an active license in state of practice - NE:  PLMHP, LMHP, or LIMHP
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
