GovCIO is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator to support a critical government computer system for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Software Yard – Product Delivery Service. This role is primarily responsible for coordinating enterprise-level testing, tracking product support schedules, and managing operational deployment timelines across platform-aligned Product Teams. This position will be located in Kearneysville, WV, and will be a hybrid position.


Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Coordinator, you will serve as a primary operational resource for ensuring that applications developed by platform-aligned Product Teams are user-centric, operationally effective, and sustained in the field. You will maintain coordination continuity to balance release speed with quality and security. Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Coordinate and synchronize project timelines across enterprise-level testing, quality assurance, and product support workflows.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication acting as an operational bridge between technical development teams, Product Owners, and Portfolio Product Line Managers.
  • Track and monitor deployment milestones to ensure rapid, secure software releases occur without compromising system reliability.
  • Organize and maintain product delivery logs, user training schedules, and readiness verification documentation for mission-critical applications.
  • Manage and track issue resolution schedules, ensuring post-deployment feedback from operational users is routed back to product backlogs.
  • Monitor service-level management metrics and key performance baselines to help guarantee delivered products sustain long-term mission performance.
  • Proactively identify project risks, scheduling bottlenecks, or resource constraints affecting software rollout schedules and track remediation efforts.
  • Ensure all project coordination activities support strict adherence to federal security standards, government baselines, and DISA STIGs.

Qualifications

High School with 6 years (or commensurate experience)

 

Required Skills & Experience 

 

  • Project coordination experience within an enterprise software development, IT service management, or product delivery environment.
  • Proven experience managing complex schedules involving software testing, user acceptance, or operational rollout phases.
  • Comprehensive operational understanding of Agile methodologies, modern software delivery lifecycles (SDLC), and release coordination.
  • Strong experience facilitating collaboration and maintaining continuity among multi-disciplinary technical teams and operational stakeholders.
  • Proficiency tracking project milestones, deployment status, and task dependencies using enterprise tools (such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or ServiceNow).
  • Strong foundational understanding of diverse IT domains, service-level management concepts, and user training frameworks.

Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance 

 

Preferred Skills & Experience 

 

  • Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard, Software Yard, or Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programs.
  • Familiarity with USCG Force Design 2028 objectives, PEO C5I environments, or maritime operational contexts.
  • Relevant professional certifications highly preferred (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or ITIL certifications).
  • Understanding of how automated testing and DevSecOps release gates integrate into overall product delivery timelines.
  • Experience coordinating large-scale user engagement sessions or managing technical support frameworks for federal IT systems.
