Job Title: Diesel Electrical Mechanic

Job Overview:
Turner Staffing Group is partnered with a mining company in Kearny, Arizona that is seeking a skilled Diesel Electrical Mechanic to join their maintenance team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems on heavy diesel-powered mining equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations at the mine site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems on heavy diesel mining equipment
- Troubleshoot issues related to wiring, sensors, control modules, starters, alternators, and battery systems
- Perform electrical diagnostics using appropriate testing equipment and software
- Assist with mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment as needed
- Inspect, repair, and replace wiring harnesses, connectors, and electrical components
- Interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime
- Follow all company safety policies and MSHA regulations
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training in diesel or electrical systems preferred
- 3–5+ years of experience working on heavy diesel equipment, preferably in a mining or heavy construction environment
- Strong knowledge of diesel equipment electrical systems and diagnostics
- Experience troubleshooting CAN bus systems, sensors, and electronic control modules preferred
- Experience working with OEM equipment such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, or similar heavy equipment manufacturers preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and service manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, dust, and noise
- Ability to climb, kneel, bend, and work in tight spaces around heavy equipment
Schedule:
- Schedule may include rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and overtime as required
