DESCRIPTION
This Position is on Site at Ft. Wayne, Indiana. If candidate who does not live in Ft. Wayne area will qualify for Living and Travel financial Compensation.
Candidate will be responsible for facilitating the effective execution of launch activities within General Assembly in Southeast Michigan. The Zone Engineer will provide technical expertise, project coordination, on-site resource management and act as the single point of contact between the Plant and ME Vehicle Systems Engineering.聽

RESPONSIBILITIES
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Liaison between Plant Engineering, Central Engineering,聽 Equipment Suppliers, Installation Contractors, and all departments at the Assembly Plant
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Single point contact for tooling/equipment issues, concerns and possible continuous throughput improvement ideas/projects
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Provide technical direction and project management oversight to suppliers, contractors and/or plant maintenance for new tooling and kit installations聽
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Support tryout and debug of tooling and equipment at assembly plant
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Maintaining accurate Tooling Status List for shipment and installation to meet targets.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Receive all tooling deliveries/packages based on installation schedule
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Support new vehicle launch at the assembly plant which will include various shifts and long hours during construction and launch events
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Ensure all ME tool designs are data-banked and spare parts information is available to plant
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Assist in the planning, estimating, and evaluating new manufacturing processes and equipment for installation. Often requires conducting plant floor walks with IEs and Contractors to understand scope of work
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Attend (1) plant safety walk per month to maintain VSGA presence and site on safety
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Communicate project status, results and lessons learned to VS management
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Work with VS-ME to drive any error proofing features into product designs based on past lesson learnings聽
QUALIFICATIONS
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Manufacturing / Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Demonstrated strong project management skills and work experience
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Demonstrated high level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Broad and thorough knowledge of tooling systems, engineering techniques, and manufacturing processes across all areas of the plant
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Self-motivated with ability to initiate and apply innovative ideas and concepts
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with Plant personnel, Manufacturing Engineering Personnel and Vendors / Contractors
Basic Preferred
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Vehicle assembly plant/program launch experience with successful individual achievements or strong team-based achievements
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Thorough knowledge of machine tools and processes within General Assembly
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Experience in tool design and build, installation and follow-ups for continuous improvements
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Experience in application of math-based processes (such as UG and TeamCenter)
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Familiar with manufacturing cost estimation process and financial reporting
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Previous ME experience
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Assembly plant experience in Production, Plant Engineering/Maintenance, Quality, or Industrial Engineering
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Previous General Motors Experience is Required
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽For out of town Employee Daily Per Diem or Living Expenses will be provided
