Position Overview

The Manager of Electrical Infrastructure provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for facility electrical systems, controls, and automation across more than 60 locations. The role is responsible for ensuring system safety, regulatory compliance, and operational reliability, spanning everything from high-voltage substations to automated production equipment. Additionally, the manager drives continuous improvement through corporate standards, energy efficiency initiatives, preventive maintenance strategies, and supports capital projects. By leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with external partners, the position ultimately supports long-term infrastructure sustainability.

Mon to Friday 8am to 5pm

  • Provide nationwide leadership, oversight, and technical support for electrical infrastructure and systems for 60+ facilities:Develop, maintain, and standardize corporate electrical engineering standards, specifications, design criteria, and operational best practices across all locations;Support more than 60+ facilities in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex electrical, controls, automation, instrumentation, and power system issues;Oversee maintenance and reliability strategies for electrical infrastructure and critical power systems, including switchgear, substations, transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), generators, automatic transfer switches, variable frequency drives (VFDs), uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and electrical distribution equipment;Monitor system reliability and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and subject matter expertise throughout the design, planning, execution, commissioning, and startup of capital projects involving electrical infrastructure, controls, and automation systems:Act as a corporate electrical SME during capital projects by defining technical requirements, validating designs, and ensuring compliance with corporate standards and operational expectations;Engage directly with project execution in the field to resolve technical issues, support installation activities, and verify system functionality during commissioning and startup;Review and approve electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, and contractor submittals to ensure technical accuracy, safety compliance, and operational reliability;Collaborate closely with engineering firms, contractors, utilities, and facility teams to troubleshoot issues, refine designs, and ensure successful project delivery from concept through operational turnover.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility equipment, electrical infrastructure, and production systems to ensure reliability, safety, compliance, and operational efficiency:Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including qualification, selection, performance oversight, service agreements, and accountability for quality, cost, and responsiveness;Analyze equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve uptime and reliability;Support emergency response and critical outage recovery efforts;Assist facilities with backup power and emergency generation strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption and improve electrical efficiency:Support sustainability and utility optimization initiatives;Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to electrical infrastructure.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance facility maintenance and engineering teams: Support development of electrical training programs and competency standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, EHS, and Maintenance: Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and facility leadership to improve equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and long-term infrastructure sustainability.

Skills

  • Specialized Knowledge : Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, automation controls, electrical safety standards, NFPA 70/70E, OSHA regulations, arc flash mitigation, preventive maintenance strategies, and reliability engineering principles. Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration and industrial process systems preferred.
  • Special Skills : Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; project management; contractor and supplier coordination; leadership and mentoring; communication and organizational skills; ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications; proficiency with CMMS and electrical diagnostic tools. Experience supporting multiple manufacturing or industrial facilities.
  • Physical abilities: : Ability to walk manufacturing facilities, climb ladders, access rooftops/mechanical spaces, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Other: : Ability to support emergency response situations; Ability to travel up to 70% to support facilities.
  • Certification: : Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) certification preferred
