The History Department at Keene State College is seeking qualified applicants for an adjunct faculty positions for Fall 2026 in Early Republic/Nineteenth-Century U.S. History. This is a part-time non-benefitted position.

Duties/Responsibilities

(50%)

  • Design and delivery course content for credit courses

(45%)

  • Prepare course materials. 

  • Assess student learning.

  • Assign grades

  • Refer students to support services. 

  • Provide supplemental instruction and mentorship to students.

(5%)

  • Abide with USNH and KSC policies

  • Participate in appropriate departments/unit meetings.

Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in history

  • Peer-reviewed publication in early republic political history

  • Expertise in early republic and 19th-century US political history

  • Ability to teach a course in capitalism and slavery in the US, 1790-1850..

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching courses on American expansion in the antebellum period, capitalism and slavery, 1790-1850, and history of Boston.

Compensation Pay Range:
