About Texas Power Bars
Texas Power Bars has manufactured American-made barbells and strength-training equipment since 1980. Our products are used by competitive lifters, home gym owners, schools, universities, gyms, and professional training facilities across the country.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused individual to assist customers, enter and manage orders, and coordinate with our production and shipping teams.
This position serves as a primary point of contact for customers and is responsible for answering questions, accurately entering orders, processing order changes, tracking shipments, assisting with returns and warranty concerns, and resolving customer issues.
A background or interest in fitness, strength training, powerlifting, or gym equipment is helpful because this role will regularly assist customers with product questions and recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer questions by phone and email in a friendly and professional manner.
- Enter customer, dealer, wholesale, and special orders accurately into company systems.
- Review orders for correct products, quantities, finishes, pricing, shipping information, and special instructions.
- Create and update draft orders, invoices, and customer records.
- Process order changes, cancellations, refunds, returns, replacements, and warranty claims.
- Confirm payment status and follow up on incomplete or pending orders.
- Track shipments and assist with delayed, damaged, missing, or incorrect deliveries.
- Coordinate with production, assembly, coating, and shipping teams to provide accurate order updates.
- Help customers understand the differences between our bars, finishes, knurl options, and intended uses.
- Provide basic product recommendations based on the customer’s training needs.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and order activity.
- Assist with data entry, spreadsheets, filing, dealer accounts, product launches, and other office tasks.
- Help identify recurring customer or product concerns for management review.
- Assist with light warehouse or fulfillment duties during busy periods when needed.
Qualifications
- Previous customer service, order-entry, administrative, retail, or e-commerce experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and data-entry accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Friendly, patient, professional, and solution-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple orders and customer issues at the same time.
- Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, and basic office software.
- Experience with Shopify, ShipStation, or similar systems is a plus.
- Fitness, strength-training, powerlifting, gym, or sporting-goods experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to learn detailed product information and confidently assist customers.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to move throughout an office, production, and warehouse environment.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
