Semo Milling, LLC has an excellent opportunity for a CDL Shipping Technician in Scott City, MO!

This position works every other weekend. 


MUST have a valid class A driver's license and an acceptable driver record. 


I. Position Purpose

Reporting to the Shipping Manager, this position is responsible for the execution of the plant predetermined load-out and packaging schedule, plant sanitation, material handling and general support of operations.


II. Position Responsibilities and Duties

Performing duties as directed by others to ensure the following duties are managed accurately and processed in a timely manner:


Shipping Responsibilities

  •  Execute the shipping process as directed
  •  Ensuring adherence to packaging, load-out and mill production schedules
  •  Partake in inventory process on daily basis
  •  Facility Sanitation
  •  Utilizing good manufacturing processes
  •  Prime product and hominy load-out
  •  Utilize the spotter trucks to move trailers
  •  Monitor key indicator for quality, productivity, and utilization
  •  Utilize the IMS and SPC where applicable
  •  Responsible for quality of work within area
  •  Maintain work environment in a clean and orderly fashion inspection ready at all times


Quality, Safety and Sanitation

  •  Follow all Personnel Safety policies/procedures, including the use of proper PPE, as well as ensure the safe use of required tools and equipment
  •  Follow all Food Safety, Quality Assurance, GMP's, Sanitation and general plant policies/procedures
  •  Inspect products for overall appearance according to customer and QA/Food Safety requirements and communicate with supervisor when non-conforming products are present
  •  Communicate all safety or environmental issues to supervisors/managers
  •  At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties
  •  Complete necessary paperwork for documenting process parameters and recordkeeping requirements

Open Communications to be a team player and do other tasks as necessary.


III. Essential Skills

This position actively engages in daily operations and is engaged in supporting policies and procedures in accordance with the company Vision, Values, and Strategic Objectives.


Education Level: High School Diploma or GED

Related Experience: Shipping/bulk loading experience preferred

Team oriented

Must possess and maintain a valid class A CDL, DOT Medical Card, and an acceptable driving record


IV. Physical and Mental Requirements

This position requires physical and mental alertness, attentiveness and stamina for the length of an entire 8-12 hour work shift each day. Occasional to frequent lifting of 50-100 pounds, frequent changing from a seated to standing position and occasional to frequent stair climbing are all physical demands of this position. This working environment for this position will include occasional to frequent work in both extreme cold and hot weather conditions. This position is not a supervisor position, but dose require leadership skills to help ensure supervisors instructions are being followed.
