General Summary:  The Geospatial Analyst collects and maintains information and conducts detailed statistical and geospatial analysis on various datasets.  This position collaborates with all departments of Silver Star to design and implement data driven analysis and recommendations.  Attention to detail is very important along with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.  Maintains critical business information via company software systems and databases, analyzes and distributes information to assist in business decisions, and trains departments that use GIS and other operational data analysis tools. Audits, cleans and remedies processes to improve company data sources.  

  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide expertise in the use and application of geospatial technologies and analysis.
  • Integrates geospatial technologies to support business intelligence analysis.
  • Design, collect, edit, analyze, and troubleshoot GIS, GPS, and other geospatial data.
  • Compile and analyze data collected from fieldwork and other projects and summarize data in reports, documents, presentations, or other methods.
  • Develop, maintain, and query spatial and informational databases for scientific analysis.
  • Support field-based team members in building applications for data collection and management.
  • Produce visually compelling data visualizations and succinct data analysis summaries.
  • Support the development and application of models, automation, and other technologies to improve efficiency of processes and data.
  • Observe and document internal procedures and evaluate their effectiveness and recommend process improvements.
  • Proven analytical skills, work requires continual attention to detail. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Experience managing and analyzing complex datasets and databases.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, flexibility, and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to obtain Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Prepared data for submittal to federal, state, and local agencies. Strong understanding of mapping software, including Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, and ArcGIS Online and Autodesk AutoCAD. Ability to both work independently and as a member of a collaborative team
  • Ability to prioritize projects by company need and time frame requirements.
  • Self-motivated, curious, problem-solving attitude.
  • Demonstrated abilities to use and apply geospatial tools and technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

               



Experience / Requirements:

  • 2-4 years’ experience using GIS products, such as Esri ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online. Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, Esri Certifications or GISP certification preferred. Computer proficiency, familiarity with databases, writing and problem-solving skills, aptitude in science and math.
  • Ability to maintain a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License.  





Working Conditions:

All work is generally performed within an office and public setting environment.  Occasional travel for training or user conferences pertaining to business systems supported under the performance of job duties.  Working hours are generally 40-50 hours per week.
