Compensation: $28.32

 

The Opportunity:

Homer Electric Association (HEA) is a member-owned electric utility serving the central and southern areas of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska! We are excited to be seeking a Member Support Representative to join our team at our Kenai, Alaska location.

 

Our Member Support Representatives are our first line of contact with members of the community. They must be friendly and courteous with members on billing and account inquiries and provide information on a variety of subjects relating to membership, electric services, utilities regulations and tariffs.

 

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Accept and process applications either over the phone, in person or electronically for new and changed membership for electric service, initiate action on member connects, reconnects, change in service and disconnect service orders.
  • Answer member inquiries regarding billing and collections and prepare accurate information for account corrections as needed.
  • Resolve billing and service complaints and refer grievances to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Perform or assist in the duties of the call center, cashier, bank deposit preparations and/or receptionist and back-office functions, as assigned.
  • Promote new or additional utility services or programs and encourages safe, efficient use of electricity.

 

What makes you a good fit:

  • Two years of college level, or formal business education; in lieu of degree, must have four (4) years of additional experience.
  • Two years of progressively responsible customer service experience.
  • Must submit a valid Alaska Driver's license within 90 days of hire date, and maintain a good driving record
