Pioneer has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Account Manager covering Eastern South Dakota.

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) role is responsible for implementing the direct sales process with selected Strategic Accounts and helping build a sales culture to support large growers with the Pioneer sales team.

What You'll Do:

This position works to grow Pioneer seed sales by working with and building relationships with growers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:                                                

  • Conducting business analysis of assigned grower segment and accounts

  • Executing comprehensive call strategy in collaboration with the Sales Team

  • Negotiating & coordinating value proposition delivery

  • Develop value proposition to assist growers to achieve higher productivity

  • Lead the coordination of the support and sales teams to deliver on business needs analysis

  • Coordinate customer activities to provide support & strengthen relationship

  • Coordinate the delivery of precision agronomy, product knowledge, and agronomic service

  • Demonstrate the ability to increase penetration by calling on prospects and building relationships that lead to new revenue opportunities                                                                                               

  • Manage the delivery of learning opportunities to sales team through a variety of blended learning approaches

  • Understand customer needs and provide feedback to the organization on product performance, program effectiveness, and competitive activity.   

  • Suggest improvements or alternative tactics to help achieve commercial area and territory goals.  

  • Continue to develop professionally by remaining current with new technologies, management innovations, and sales management developments

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Business, Marketing preferred, will consider other degrees with related field sales experience.

  • 7-10 years of Ag sales or field agronomy experience, and proven abilities to:

  • Sell, negotiate and influence

  • Strong agronomy and knowledge of crop production practices

  • Ability to pass a driving record background check

  • Managing and coaching individuals

  • Experience working with strategic accounts in local geography.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • Lead and influence teams/projects and coach individuals in accomplishing defined objectives/goals

  • Understands the needs and values of partners and customers and to develop solutions to satisfy/retain

  • Get results by taking initiative, overcoming obstacles & finding creative solutions

  • Work independently and operate within a budget

  • Work in and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment

  • VISA sponsorship and international relocation are NOT available for this position
