Scope of Work:Â
Under the guidance of the Deposit Operations Manager, the ACH Payment Operations Specialist serves as the Company’s subject matter expert for ACH payment processing, NACHA compliance, operational risk management, and process improvement activities. This role is responsible for overseeing complex ACH operations, resolving escalated issues, ensuring regulatory compliance, collaborating with other departments, and supporting strategic initiatives. This position partners with Cash Management, Commercial Banking, Compliance, Deposit Services, Risk Management and Technology teams to ensure the efficient, accurate and secure processing of ACH transactions. The incumbent will need to possess strong problem-solving capabilities, critical thinking abilities and organizational skills.Â
Essential Functions:Â
Â
ACH Operations Leadership and Processing OversightÂ

Oversee the accurate and timely processing of all ACH transactions and related payment activities.Â

Review and approve complex ACH files, large-dollar transactions and exception items.Â

Monitor processing deadlines, settlement schedules, and operational controls to ensure service-level performance.Â

Serve as the operational expert for ACH products, processes, and regulatory requirements.Â
Â
Risk Management, Compliance, and Quality ControlÂ

Ensure compliance with NACHA Rules, regulatory requirements, and internal bank polices.Â

Review ACH activity for operational, fraud, and compliance risks and escalate concerns appropriately.Â

Support internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and risk assessments.Â
-
Develop and maintain procedures, controls and quality assurance standards for ACH operations.Â
Â
Customer Support, Process Improvement, and TrainingÂ

Resolve escalated customer and internal partner inquiries related to ACH processing and payment exceptions.Â

Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency and service quality.Â

Train internal departments and serve as a resource for complex operational issues.Â

Participate in system upgrades, testing, and implementation of ACH products and servicesÂ

Collaborate with business units and technology teams on new product implementations and payment initiatives.Â

Continuing certifications of Accredited Payments Risk Professionals (APRP); Accredited Faster Payments Professionals (AFPP)Â

5+ years of ACH, payments, cash management, or bank operations experience is preferred. A commensurate combination of education and experience will also be considered.Â
